  • Nakuru’s Gen Zs celebrated Murkomen’s firing with a cake-cutting party, slicing away his tenure with a knife
  • The air was electric with joy as youths sang and shared the “farewell” cake, venting their frustrations about his time in office
  • They hailed President Ruto’s decision, making it clear they want Murkomen’s political chapter closed for good

It was all joy and celebration in Nakuru County yesterday as hundreds of youths held a party to celebrate President Ruto’s decision to fire Transport CS Kipchumba Murkomen.

A video has emerged showing a group of Gen Zs chatting happily before breaking into song and cutting a cake to mark the end of Murkomen’s tenure.

The cake, placed on a stool in the street, was surrounded by the youth, who cut it with what looked like a machete.

The cake was divided into several pieces within minutes, and everyone present dug in before giving speeches to the media about how Murkomen had let them down.

A closer look at the cake revealed it was beautifully decorated in orange, black, and blue, with the message “YK-27 Welcome Home Former CS Murkomen.”

Residents who joined the youth in cutting the cake jubilated each time the knife went down, expressing their frustration with having CSs they deemed unqualified and corrupt.

A Gen Z spokesperson told the press they were thrilled Murkomen had been fired and sarcastically suggested he could now advertise Rolex watches bought with taxpayers’ money.

They thanked the president for the move, saying they had repeatedly asked Murkomen to be accountable to no avail and told him they didn’t want him in Kenya’s government ever again.
