Nicki Minaj, the internationally renowned music star, was detained at Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport today on suspicion of possessing soft drugs.

This incident occurred just hours before she was scheduled to perform at Co-op Live in Manchester, casting uncertainty on her upcoming performance.

Minaj, 41, took to the social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter) to share her experience.

In her posts, she claimed, “they said they found weed” and expressed frustration, saying, “they took my luggage without consent” and “they’re trying to keep me from MANCHESTER.”

She further highlighted the legality of weed in Amsterdam, emphasizing, “This is Amsterdam btw, where weed is legal.”

The rapper also posted a video showing an airport official requesting to check her luggage.

In another message, she expressed suspicion over the delay, noting, “It’s a 45 minute to an hour flight. So they’re probably trying to stall for about 4 hours.”

As of now, Minaj has not posted any updates on X following these messages.

However, a post from Co-op Live’s official X account indicated a change in the event’s schedule, stating, “Please note that general admission and premium doors for tonight’s Nicki Minaj show will now open at 19:00.”

Nicki Minaj’s tour schedule includes a performance in Birmingham on Sunday, followed by a show at London’s O2 arena on Tuesday.

She is also set to perform in Glasgow on Wednesday and return to Co-op Live in Manchester for another concert on Thursday.
